Job Description
Provides confidential interpreting services for the Gallaudet community in a variety of situations including graduate, undergraduate and continuing education classes, workshops, seminars, platform presentations, media events, conferences, and Video Relay Service.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum three years of professional interpreting experience. Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language including excellent expressive and receptive skills. CI/CT, NIC, or NAD IV or V certification required at time of hire. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the ability to interpret Level 2- to Level 3 assignments as determined by a GIS skills assessment. Applicants are expected to provide a resume or application and a profile of professional interpreting experience (e.g., types of interpreting situations, mentorship/practicum supervision, personal presentations, workshops, classes, published articles). Promotion to this Level (Level II) is dependent on commendable performance in Level I.
Compensation $47,000 to $84,600 (income supported)
