| Qualifications | 1. certified by the Registry for the Deaf (RID) or Level 3-4 EIPA or
ESSE 2. previous interpreting experience with aurally exceptional individuals and/or groups preferably in an educational setting 3. knowledge of various sign language systems, (particularly SEE), finger spelling and gestures 4. knowledge of proper English usage, grammar and punctuation 5. awareness of Deaf culture, basic personal/social problems and learning disabilities associated with deaf persons 6. awareness of ethical responsibilities of interpreters within the educational setting 7. valid California Driver's License and ability to provide own transportation 8. ability to meet required background check including finger print clearance and TB testing |
