| Job Description | Provides confidential interpreting services for the Gallaudet community in a variety of situations including graduate, undergraduate and continuing education classes, workshops, seminars, platform presentations, media events, conferences, and Video Relay Service. |
| Qualifications | High school diploma or GED required. Minimum three years of professional interpreting experience. Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language including excellent expressive and receptive skills. CI/CT, NIC, or NAD IV or V certification required at time of hire. Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the ability to interpret Level 2- to Level 3 assignments as determined by a GIS skills assessment. Applicants are expected to provide a resume or application and a profile of professional interpreting experience (e.g., types of interpreting situations, mentorship/practicum supervision, personal presentations, workshops, classes, published articles). Promotion to this Level (Level II) is dependent on commendable performance in Level I.
